I cannot say enough great things about these drum pads. Not only do they dampen the sound (my neighbors are still thanking me for that one) and cover up the ugly gray pads that come standard with the Rock Band drum set, but they actually help you play better. Again, and I’m not exaggerating, they actually help improve your skills as a virtual drummer. I noticed the instant I started playing with them that my sticks were bouncing back with better rhythm, which let me play rolls and fills I had never been able to play through before. I would recommend checking out their site, too. They offer a bunch of styles and designs if you’re willing to pay a little extra (I went with the bullseye design). Either way, these pads are the most useful video game accessory I’ve ever bought, hands down.

Rock Band has brought my children faminly and friends together. But the noise from those drums was deafening. We now can play in quiet peace with no adverse effects in game play.

These pads have a great feel while drumming, and at first seemed to be a great answer to the wholly unacceptable standard covers. However, after about three hours of drumming, one of the pads was off completely with two others well on their way. Save your money, look for something else.

Installs seamlessly but you have to bang the drum pads a lot harder to register the hit. Because of this the noise-canceling effects of the pads cancel out because you have to hit it harder.

The sound of the sticks hitting the Rock Band kit was loud enough to disturb upstairs neighbors and even hurt my own ears when playing the game for any significant period of time. These pads do not *silence* the drum kit, but nothing would; they do significantly decrease the noise for me. The sound is decreased overall but particularly the sharp initial report is gone, and with no decrease in game playability.
I have the black small pads and the drum kit also looks way better with these pads on than before. Also the install was simple and trouble free as they fit exactly.
I could not be more pleased with this product.
