I got this guitar for my son for Christmas because he has both Rock Band and Guitar Hero. This guitar is compatible with both games. Now both of my sons can play guitar in each game. Well worth the money. Product seems to be holding up well.

Ugh, I need to stand within 5 feet of my PS3 to get this to work properly. The other guitar with the RB2 set works anywhere in my room. Very disappointed.

The only pro to this guitar controller is that it is a cheaper substitute to the Standalone guitar for rock band which is excellent. I ended up buying one after I had this controller for about 3 weeks.
On to the cons. This guitar controller feels very cheap. The strum bar is obnoxiously noisy and squeaky sounding and is quite irritating during game play. The fret buttons need to be pushed down hard at times to avoid missing notes. This causes the fingers to get tired half way through a song. Third, the whammy bar on my controller stopped working completely after about 2 weeks.
I would highly recommend that you spend the extra 20 dollars and buy a Standalone guitar instead of buying one of these for the reasons I listed above. You will not regret it.

I purchased this guitar to use with Guitar Hero for PS3 for the kids for Christmas. It has awful range. My husband and I were worried that the guitar that came with Guitar Hero World Tour wouldn’t pick up as well (because it was sold as a “set”/”bundle”). We have the opposite problem with this guitar.
We’re having to re-wire our entire system to make it closer to our living room just to accommodate this guitar (and others that we’re sure to purchase in the future).
